Tour de Brisbane road closures

The State’s peak motoring body has reminded Brisbane residents major road closures would impact traffic and transport across the city on Sunday.

RACQ spokesperson Clare Hunter said roads around the CBD, Mount Cotton, Mount Coot-tha and Rochedale would be temporarily closed when 2500 cyclists participated in the Tour de Brisbane.

“Tolls on the CLEM7 will be waived for northbound travel between 6am and 9.30am, and southbound from 6am to 10.30am, so we expect this will help ease the impact of dozens of road closures,” Ms Hunter said.

“Remember there’ll also be major disruptions to the city’s bus network from 4.30am to 2pm on Sunday, so it might be best to avoid or delay travel if you can.

“Whether in the car or on the bus, if you do need to travel make sure you plan ahead and check what roads and services will be available.”

A full list of road closures was available on the event website and residents could also plan their travel on RACQ’s Road Conditions webpage.
