The State’s peak motoring body has advised motorists to expect road closures and traffic changes on Brisbane’s Inner City Bypass (ICB) from this weekend.

RACQ spokesperson Clare Hunter said works to install LED lights in the Breakfast Creek tunnel would occur each night between 9pm to 5am, from Sunday until Friday.

“That means the ICB westbound will be closed at Bowen Hills between Kingsford Smith Drive and Abbotsford Road from 9pm on Sunday night until 5am the next day until Tuesday,” Ms Hunter said.

“The works will then progress to the other side of the ICB with the eastbound carriageway to be closed from Wednesday and Thursday between 9am and 5am the next day.”

Ms Hunter said motorists should plan ahead and prepare for diversions.

“There’ll be detours in place between via Breakfast Creek Road during the works, so drivers should plan ahead so the changes don’t overly impact their travel,” she said.

“Take it slow and follow the signs in place, but before you set off, get the latest updates on the roads by visiting RACQ’s Road Conditions website.”
