Seven children, including an infant, were among those evacuated from Eungella, west of Mackay, on Friday evening.

The Mackay-based RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter flew to the township and landed at a flat spot on Bees Creek Road in the heart of the Eungella National Park, which had been ringed by fire for days.

The residents were safely retrieved and flown in two loads to the Finch Hatton showgrounds.

None suffered any injuries or required medical treatment.
