As Gold Coast petrol prices hit a three and a half year high, RACQ has urged motorists to take advantage of cheap fuel offers, with one local servo selling fuel for under a dollar.
The Coomera Shell Service Centre at Exit 54 (southbound) on the M1 was offering Gold Coast drivers the chance to fill up at 99 cents per litre (cpl) between 11am and 1pm on Tuesday.
RACQ spokesperson Lucinda Ross said with prices so high across the Coast, locals in the vicinity should take advantage of the cheap price while it was available.
“While we wouldn’t say people should drive way out of their way to fill up at this particular servo, anyone on the northern Gold Coast heading down the M1 should keep this deal in mind,” Ms Ross said.
“If you’re not near Coomera, you should still shop around for the petrol stations offering the best price in your area.
“Petrol stations in Southport, Molendinar and Tugun are also offering fuel for less than 150cpl so there are options out there to shop with your wheels and reward retailers offering drivers a fair deal.”
The Gold Coast’s average unleaded price today was 159cpl.
