Fuel saving myths put to the test

Christmas is fast approaching and can be an expensive time of year.

This means many Queenslanders, with presents to buy and visiting family members to feed, may be on the hunt for ways to save money at the fuel bowser.

A recent jump in the global oil price could see the cost of petrol climb in the lead up to the festive season so, in this video, RACQ has tested some common fuel saving myths to see if there’s a way Queenslanders can save money by reducing fuel consumption.

Sitting idle, placing a vehicle in neutral and switching off air conditioning are some of the common methods placed under the microscope by RACQ’s fuel experts.
